Corbett National Park
Corbett National Park is the first national park of India. Today the park is regarded as one of the finest wildlife parks in the world. Established by Jim Corbett in 1936, the park was formerly known as the Hailey National Park, which was later changed to Corbett National Park.

Location : 63 Kms southwest of Nainital, Uttaranchal.
Area : 1,200 sq. kms
Prime attractions : Tigers, Leopards, Crocodiles, Sloth Bear, Himalayan Black Bear, Dhole, Jackal, Yellow Throated Martem, Himalayan Palm Civet, Indian Grey Mongoose. How to reach :Nearest airport is Phoolbagh (Pantnagar), Ramnagar is the nearest railhead. One can reach the park by bus, taxi or car.

Kaziranga National Park
Kaziranga, the land of the Indian one-horned rhinoceros, is located on the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra river. Surrounded by the hills of Barail and Karbi Anglong to the south, the Kaziranga National Park is considered one of the most beautiful parks in India. One-horned rhinos were hunted mercilessly here and they were almost on the brink of extinction.

Location : 23 Kms from Bokakhat and 217 kms from Guwahati (Assam).
Area : 430 sq. kms
Prime attractions : One-horned rhino, tiger, leopard, deer, elephant, wild buffalo, egret, herons, stork and fish-eating eagle.
How to reach : Nearest major airport is Guwahati (217 kms) and other airport is located at Jorhat (97 kms). Nearest railhead is Furkating (75 kms), the park is situated on the NH-37, ASTC and private buses are available from Guwahati and Tezpur. Taxis and cars are available from the nearest town of Bokakhat (23 kms).

Eravikulam National Park
Eravikula National Park is located on the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. It was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1975 and became a National Park in 1978. The park was established to protect the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. The endangered species of wild goat is the main inhabitant of the park, which is only to be found south of the Himalayas.

Location : 17 Kms from Munnar, Kerala
Area : 97 sq. kms
Prime attractions : Nilgiri Tahr, Tigers, Leopard, Atlas Moth, Elephants, Sambars, Gaurs, Lion-tailed Macaque and Nilgiri Langur.
How to reach : Nearest Airport is Kochi (135 kms), Nearest railway station is located at Aluva (115 kms), taxis, cars and other vehicles are available from Kochi.

Kanha National Park
Kanha National Park is the largest Wildlife Sanctuary in Asia. Kanha is original Kipling country, about which he wrote in his unforgettable classic Jungle Book. Due to depletion of the tiger population, the area was developed as an absolute sanctuary in 1952. Kanha National Park was created as in 1995 by a special law.

Location : Mandla Dist, Madhya Pradesh
Area : 1,940 sq. kms
Prime attractions : Tigers, Leopards, Bears, Three-Stripe Squirrels, Variety of Monkeys, Apes, Hyena, Wild Pigs, Deers and Black Bucks.
How to reach : Nearest airport is Nagpur (266 kms), nearest railhead is Jabalpur (169 kms). Kanha National Park is well-connected by road with important places of the state. Regual buses are available from Jabalpur to Kanha.

Alisagar Deer Park
The Nizam constructed the Alisagar reservoir in 1931. Many natural hillocks and flower gardens dot the park adding to its attraction. The Lake and its surroundings make the park an ideal place to spend some time in the lap of nature. It is a real adventure to see the rare deer species and a nice Indian wildlife tour

How to reach : Nizamabad is well connected by bus with Karimnagar, Adilabad, Warangal, Nanded (Maharashtra) and Hyderabad. From Nizamabad there are regular buses to Alisagar.

Mahavir Swami Wildlife Park
The Mahavir Swami Wildlife Sanctuary in India is reputed for its variety of flora and fauna. The picturesque sanctuary attracts the connoisseurs of wildlife from across the world. The sanctuary provides for a wonderful gateway to the Bundelkhand region and has been rendered famous by the legendary Rani Laxmi Bai.

Location : Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh
Area : 5.4sq. Kms
Prime attractions: Leopard, Nilgai, Wild Boar and Sambar.
How to reach : The nearest railhead and airport is Jhansi. Buses and taxis are available at regular interval from here to reach to the sanctuary.
